The Staccarto Studio and Garden

“Inside the Staccarto studio we are producing and printing art. Outside the studio we grow flowers and create habitat for insects and animals.” – Staccarto CEO Kathy on Cultivating Art in Garden Spaces

Cultivating beauty is very important to us as a company, in fact, that is one of our main objectives with getting into the world of art & printing. But even before converting this garage into Staccarto’s headquarters, we began a pollinator garden in the yard surrounding the studio. Flowers and plants create art in garden spaces so we wanted to make sure that our yard was just as decorative as our art studio.

For us, printing positive art and promoting the work of talented artists is part of work to better the world we live in. We are, of course, aware of the often negative impacts the art industry has had on the environment. For this reason we strive constantly improve our printing techniques and reduce waste as much as possible.

Our studio is located in a suburban part of Sacramento, an area where many homes have a independent structures used to house small businesses. The neighborhood is also home to many gardens and gardeners.

We are so grateful to be located in such a vibrant community, which also includes the insects and other animals who live in the canopy and in nearby parks, we try to make our studio-garden a safe space for native butterflies like the Tiger Swallowtail (pictured above) which was the subject of a recent piece by the mandala artist Uritan (pictured below).

This Tiger Swallowtail mandala and the whole set of butterfly mandalas is available in our online store, click the products tab in the menu to see our whole selection of art.
